The new 686+ ships with 0.334” (under the head) strain screw, this results in too light mainspring weight. This 0.380” (under the head) strain screw is perfect and puts the spring weight at a sufficient strength to eliminate light primer strikes, which is why I purchased this strain screw. I believe this is the correct spring weight which matches my older Smiths. I think S&W shortened the length to give a cheap trigger job rendering the revolver unreliable. Thankfully the Gun Garage had this part and provided an excellent description.
Screws are top notch
